Discover Mercia began when Hana sent an image of a decorative, bricked up cave to Dan, asking what it was. With only scant memories to go off of we began to research what they could be and not only did we find that there was very limited information presented easily and efficiently online about the caves in question but there were plenty more historical features around Himley Hall and Grounds that also had a lack of accessible online documentation.

As we explored, more and more questions arose and the exploring and questioning gradually turned into the Discover Mercia project, a place that we could not only display the images of the historical features that had been taken alongside whatever information we had found about them but somewhere that we could eventually expand out to cover more areas in the Midlands. Both of us enjoying having a puzzle or a project to work upon, especially one that could stretch into the indefinite future.
